Thirty-nine days and counting.  Athletes push, strengthen, hydrate, fuel, and rest their bodies for the looming London Olympics.  Their uniforms hanging in closets waiting for a gleaming debut atop track, deck, mat, horse, bike, water, ice, and field.  These aren’t your typical Spandex shorts.  Color, cut, and pattern are carefully illustrated, as Designers Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, and Armani change their game to create functional fashions for the their countries’ physical elite.

Olympians are not the only individuals allowed to win in sleek sportswear this year.  Designers such as Kenzo, Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Rag & Bone, and Adidas sent sport-inspired fashions down the runway last fall for their s/s 2012 collections.
