This photo shoot was inspired by life’s dark capabilities. Mirrors line the walls, reflecting the search–an introspection.

Models glided purposefully across Chado Ralph Rucci’s runway whose surface shimmered with a fluid effect–juxtaposing the clothing’s clean, crisp lines.

A photo shoot capturing 12 looks came together under a big blue sky. It was 8 years in-the-making, and just as the sun shone on our shoot, so too did the flash of the camera hit a vintage collection with a story.

The dream dress–two actually. They were in my hands this summer, my hands that bled with pin pokes (red and white not friendly colors) and shook with a bit of nerves. Pressure. It creates diamonds, you know.

Perhaps we were inspired by our surroundings, as the ‘overall best dressed’ blended effortlessly with the surrounding landscape–naturally shining.

Posing at the entrance of the YWCA’s newly opened 5th Avenue Boutique, our model Thelmy is dressed in some fabulous fall 2012 trends.

The shoot was bright at N Studios with photographer Abiel Hoff. Set against a brilliant white background, the camera flashed–causing dress to sparkle with liquid shine.

She destructs, deconstructs and embellishes with colorful dyes and her signature ruffles until the plain skirts and dresses that are “unrecognizable”. One thing is for sure. Glam.spoon designs are sure to be recognized.

I left the conversation encouraged–bright words coming from a man whose dreams were stifled by the bounds of his culture–one who was displaced from his home and forced to find refuge in a strange land. Mahmoud Al Mammar shone with love and passion. His shared communication was testament to the fact that we are all connected.
